The SDLP is committed to the restoration of power-sharing. We know that without a government it is impossible to make the lives of citizens here better.
Throughout the talks process, the SDLP has worked constructively with all parties in an effort to reach a resolution to the current stalemate.
After a summer of little progress, it is our view that the public deserve to know why there is continued political deadlock.
While, we have submitted numerous detailed policy papers during the process and will continue to do so, we believe that the public deserve to know where each political party stands on each key issue. Therefore, we have put together a number of position papers that summarise the detail of our policy papers.

With patients, elderly people, school children and many others paying the price for political failure, people deserve to know exactly what the critical issues are in terms of an Executive being formed and where each party stands on it.
We hope that the publication of these papers inform and reassure the public of our efforts. We hope that all political parties will do the same.
