A celebration of Dr T.K Whitaker's contribution to modern Ireland
Economist and civil servant Dr TK Whitaker wrote the blueprint for the modern Irish economy - the ‘First Programme for Economic Expansion’ – in 1956 and is quite simply the outstanding Irish public servant of the 20th century.
He was born in Rostrevor in the year of the Easter Rising and still closely follows political and economic developments. The SDLP will be hosting a major lunch event as a tribute to Dr Whitaker which will take place in the Dublin Convention Centre on Friday 24th October at 12:30pm.
