Stephanie was born and lives in Coleraine. She was introduced to local government early in life as her father Gerry McLaughlin was an elected Councillor for over two decades.
Stephanie graduated in 1989 and spent 20 years working within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust as a state registered Podiatrist.
In 2013, due to her own love of representing and working with people, she took over her father's seat. The following year she was elected to the newly formed Causeway Coast and Glens Council. Dedicating herself to this role full-time, Stephanie is a hard-working member of local government representing constituents at tribunals and appeals, dealing with housing issues, planning, health and education issues.
One of the first initiatives that Stephanie introduced to her area was the Street Pastors Project. This is a unique cross-community project which has been exceptionally successful in training and equipping a large number of volunteers from across 32 local churches to bring a positive influence to those enjoying the local nightlife and a positive impact on the local neighbourhoods.
Stephanie enjoys spending time with her five children and also enjoys an active lifestyle with cycling, swimming and walking.:: Back to Daoine
