The SDLP has been consistent in our calls for a comprehensive, ehtical, victim-centred approach to the issues relating to legacy, and we believe that the consultation process should be victim-centred in its charcter and outcome
The SDLP believes that the proposed legislation is deficient in a number of areas and we will be making a detailed submission as our response. We have been engaging with the Northern Ireland Office in relation to the consultation and we have made our position clear. It is vital that the British Government engage fully with victims and survivors throughout the process.
The proposed legislation is deficient in a number of areas and we will ensure that our response to the consultation will be a detailed submission, highlighting our concerns.
To ensure that our response adequately reflects the views of victims and survivors, we are holding a series of meetings over the coming weeks. If you would like to meet with the SDLP in relation to the consultation, please get in touch.
