Durkan: Concern as Ambulance Service placed on ‘special measures’

SDLP Health Spokesperson Mark H Durkan MLA has said that there are significant concerns following action by the RQIA to place the Ambulance Service on ‘special measures’ as a result of hygiene and infection prevention issues. Mr Durkan said that people across the North needed to be assured that all clinical environments are safe if they need treatment from home to hospital.

Hanna disputes claim David Davis ‘very familiar with border’

SDLP Brexit Spokesperson Claire Hanna MLA has disputed claims made by the Secretary of State in the House of Commons today that Brexit Minister David Davis is very ‘familiar with the border’. Ms Hanna said that it remains incredible that given the sensitivity of the Irish border in the Brexit negotiations that David Davis has yet to visit the area as the UK Government’s lead on the issue.
