McGlone: Department of Education must not cut our children’s prospects

SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone has stated that the Minister for Education must think very carefully before implementing cuts to schools. Following a visit to two primary schools and two secondary schools in Mid Ulster, Mr McGlone stated that the impact that budget cuts would have of these schools and others like them would be disastrous.

The SDLP Cllr Kate Mullan had described the robbery of an elderly couple in South Belfast as brutal and abhorrent. Three burglars forced entry into the home of an elderly couple on Mount Merrion Avenue around 10:20am. They stole cash, a gold watch, an engagement ring and an eternity ring.
