Eastwood: A decade of DUP and Sinn Féin leadership has failed Derry
Following the publication of a report by PWC today, the SDLP Leader and Foyle MLA Colum Eastwood said the report revealed what the SDLP has been pointing to for years, while at the heart of Government the DUP and Sinn Féin leadership in the Executive “utterly failed” to address regional disparity and left Derry to “play second fiddle” to Belfast. The report says that while Belfast has enjoyed strong job-creation, it stated that amongst the devolved regions, Derry is the lowest scoring devolved city. The report also stated that Derry faces “particular challenges” that are “likely be compounded” by Brexit. Mr Eastwood said the people of Derry deserve better.
