Tony was born and bred in Cookstown, and works in the finance sector as a self-employed credit controller. Before becoming involved in local politics, Tony owned a furniture business in Moneymore for ten years where he first became involved in community issues and was a founder member of the Local Business and Traders' Association.
He was appointed as an independent member to the Cookstown District Policing Partnership in 2003 and was elected to Cookstown Council in 2005.
He became Chairman of the Council in 2009/10 and 2012/13. Tony is currently chair of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership and board member of Palliative Care User Involvement Forum, Speedwell Trust and Cancer Focus/Lilac Cancer Support (Better Together Partnership).
He has a keen interest in policing issues, peace and reconciliation and the implementation of good relations and health issues, in particular cancer care and palliative care.
His interests outside of his work and politics are spending time with family, reading and watching all kinds of sport.:: Back to People
