Declan Boyle was first elected onto Belfast City Council in May 2014's local elections. A businessman who has lived in the Botanic DEA for the past 25 years, Declan works in the housing industry.
A long-time SDLP activist, Declan decided to become involved in politics because he feels he can be a representative voice for residents and small businesses in the area who he says are being squeezed by rates and bureaucracy.
Outside of politics and work, Declan is a keen GAA follower, involved with St Brigid’s GAA club, and most of his spare time involves watching his three sons play a variety of sports. Declan also has one daughter.
