Cllr Quinn condems another arson attack

SDLP Councillor Malachy Quinn has condemned the burning of a car in Coalisland/Clonoe over the weekend which is the 3rd such attack in the area over the last 2 months. The car which has been parked at the side road over the last week was set alight sometime over the weekend.

Speaking on the issue Cllr Quinn said “Once again I find myself have to condemn another car burning in the area and more anti-social behaviour. This is the 3rd car burning in the last 2 months and it’s a worrying trend which I hope will end before someone is hurt. This is not just about the destroying someone property but it is putting in risk the lives of people driving or walking past. This type of behaviour is not acceptable and it is certainly rejected by all those people living in the area the people responsible need to wise up.”

He continued “Halloween seems to bring out the best and worst in people. Over the weekend we had fantastic events in the Washingbay Centre, Coalisland Hall and Clonoe which brought the community together and organised so that parents and children can really enjoy this time of year. Then we have incidents like this and others including under-age drinking that just brings everything down. I have been in contact with the police and have again asked them to work closer with the people in order to stuff incidents like this from happening.”
